QR Code Research
In today’s business world, more and more companies are using
QR codes. Many ask the question “What is a QR code?” A QR code is an actual
physical link on or offline that allows a company to display or advertise
themselves. You simply scan the bar code and it will connect you to specific information about a certain company or product. Many well-known companies still use these
QR codes even though they are well established. This kind of advertisement has
grown dramatically over the past 5 years with thousands of new codes made every
day. A QR code is an input device because you scan an actual image and it sends
data to a device. Some of the benefits of using QR codes are:
1.
Direct access to a specific location.
2.
Unlimited amount of information provided by
scanning one code.
3.
A mystery: Studies show that 8 out of every 10
people will scan the QR code just to see what it says. Even in the information is
irrelevant to them in the end.
The only down side to QR codes is having the right
equipment/technology to actually scan the code. As most people have the right technology,
many do not. Over the next 2 years, QR codes are expected to expand 37%.
